The bell and the fast food chain.

You know that bell they hang outside long john silvers branches around town that you ring if you think they provide good service? Many branches have already removed it because no one rings it. I think its partly because nobody wants to look stupid ringing the bell, and also partly because fast-food chains aren't exactly renowned for their service.

Well no matter. Today I saw some people ringing it as a practical joke. There was this group of 3 guys walking out of the restaurant. When the first guy walked beside the bell, one of his friends quickly pulled the bell giving the guy an earful of "good service".

I've never seen someone so pissed about good service before. Hilarious.

I'm also guilty of a little fooling around with that bell. There's this LJS at the Singpost HQ in Paya Lebar that I went to once. If you ring the bell there some guy inside will say "Thank you". I think they're supposed to do that. So I rang the thing, waited for the person to say "Thank you", then I stepped out. 5 seconds later I did the same thing. And again 10 seconds later. I finally stopped because everyone in the restaurant was looking at me, as though I was some retard like Mr. Bean. Can't Singaporeans take a little joke?
