My alma mater is abuzz recently with news that an undergraduate has been going around trying to get girls to play his little game of "show half ball."

The strangest part of it all really is how the school has been trying to hush everything up after it went viral on facebook. For a media school, it has shown itself to be terribly naive about how the media works. You have students working in SPH and Mediacorp, the least you could do was offer to fail their internships if they reported anything about the matter. After all, aren't they reporting this news precisely because they want to score stellar internships? I would know, I spent an internship reporting all sorts of steamy shit.

You learn from a young age that boobs are never a bad thing

Come on, boobs, body and balls. That was the TNP 3B motto I learnt for what makes news. This case has boobs, bodies and blue balls from too much wanking to half balls. It's definitely page one stuff. Did you seriously think you could keep this down? Mr TWW couldn't even keep his down if you know what I mean.

My dear alma mater, you have PR students, you have a crisis management class, you have a case study right in front of you, and instead of telling your students to apply what they have learnt and try to come out with the best solution to defuse this crisis, you show them that actually, no matter what you learn, when you go out to the real world you can throw it all away, because they are all theoretical frameworks that cannot be applied in real life.

I hope my juniors do not have to study local case studies, because the way the school handled this whole matter would be a shining light in the annals of negative case examples.

Student: "Hey, the whole world has found out that we have a pervert in our school."
Management: "Shut up and pretend you don't know about it."
Student: "But it's on facebook!"
Management: "Can't hear you! Can't hear you!"

It is really no fault of the school that it has a pervert in their ranks. You can't tell a pervert from his face, though in this case, I would beg to differ. The dude has creep written all over his face, from what I've seen of his photos. But I think there is some legal issue involved if you try to refuse entry to a student because he has a serious case of "perv face", even if he is a filmmaker with a serious penchant for shooting exercise videos where the only direction given from the director is "bend lower, good good, bend even lower, okay hold still, CUT!"

I just hope they will expel this pervert before it gets worse. Apparently a police report couldn't stop him from his brazen exploits. There are lots of innocent and gullible young girls out there, and they deserve to have an exploit-free zone. I'm not saying they shouldn't be exploited, they most certainly will be, but school is never the place to do it.
